3 tips to avoid and decrease pain while cycling
By some estimate, there are already two billion bikes across the globe. It has been a part of life for many and riding it is proven to improve overall mental and physical health.
But riding a bike can cause pain and aches in our body especially if our body is not at its optimum state.
Here are some tips on how to avoid and decrease pain while cycling:
Wrist Pain
Bike Adjustment: make sure handle breaks is adjusted so that your wrist is in neutral position (see video above)
Exercise: place finger on the bony prominence on your wrist. Push it down while moving your wrist up, down and side to side (see video above)
Shoulder Pain
Bike Adjustment: make sure the handlebar is directly perpendicular to wheels of your bike
Exercise: place one shoulder behind the back while moving your neck away from that shoulder (see video above)
Low Back Pain
Bike Adjustment: make sure the seat height of your bike in in line with your hips (see video above)
Exercise: Curl your upper back forward while placing both arm forward. Reverse the motion by extending your shoulders and mid back. (see video above)
Riding a bike should bring us joy. Pain is something that is optional and you can totally get of it thru exercise.
